THE DOOR OF APPRECIATION
ROLL UP! ROLL UP!
Clear and crisp, sing:
THE MARKET THEATRE!
YOU CAN’T MISS THIS ONE!
A grand entrance fit for a king and queen,
Slim, rectangular windows let the daylight shimmer in,
Warmth floods through the door to welcome the viewers,
There’s a high wooden balcony like a floating cloud,
Pantomime characters made of pottery clay,
A brown scaly floor like a snake’s skin,
It makes you feel like dancing!
The trophies won by the actors
Shine as silver as glitter,
Walk through the black door,
As black as night, or a London taxi,
And a whole new world appears in front of you!
A sad face and a happy face gleam like a pot of gold,
Seats of soft velvet wait to be sat on,
They want to watch the show,
They are the seats of destiny!
Imagine the audience clapping like crazy!
The smell in the theatre is as vintage-y as 1983,
The floor as squishy as a bouncy bed,
Colour-cannons shoot rainbow lights onto the magic stage,
Fans like giant fidget spinners rotate, round and round,
Speakers give out sound that shakes the ground
Like an earthquake…
But wait! What’s this?
A truck is unloading props to set the scene!
THIS WILL BE THE BEST PLAY EVER!
